NANOLOT #5 is an 88-point washed coffee, released in just 84 packs of 250 gm each, making it one of the most limited coffees in the NANOLOT Series. Grown at 1,149 metres above sea level in Kudasingi village, Pedabayalu Mandal, this lot was roasted in small batches to highlight clarity, sweetness, and balance.

In the cup, NANOLOT #5 offers a sweet-spicy profile with depth and structure. It opens with notes of cocoa nibs and malt, followed by a gentle lemony brightness. As the cup cools, layers of sugarcane, honey, raisin, vanilla, and soft apricot begin to emerge, supported by delicate floral undertones. The body is syrupy and rounded, finishing clean and lingering—complex yet highly approachable.

This coffee is washed and medium-light roasted, using a quick roast profile with approximately 12% development time ratio (DTR) and high airflow. This approach preserves freshness and aromatics while allowing sweetness and body to develop naturally. With a moisture content of 10.20% and a carefully controlled 4-day drying period, the green coffee showed excellent stability and clarity during roasting.

The coffee is grown on dark brown, rocky soil with a natural medium slope, under a diversified shade canopy of over eight native and fruit tree varieties. These growing conditions slow cherry maturation, contributing to the coffee’s layered sweetness, refined acidity, and balanced structure.

Frequently Asked Questions

This release comes from just 25 kg of green coffee. After sorting, roasting, and accounting for roast loss, this translated into 84 final packs of 250 g. No additional green coffee exists for this lot.

A short, controlled 4-day drying period helps retain sweetness and aromatics while avoiding overly dry or woody characteristics. This contributes to the coffee’s syrupy body and balanced cup profile.

The washed process was selected to preserve clarity and structure, allowing the coffee’s inherent sweetness, citrus brightness, and cocoa depth to remain precise rather than overtly fermented or fruit-forward.
