Limited Packs: 84 • Light Roast • Cupping Score: 88

Sensory Profile : “A bold, boozy cup with tropical and candy sweetness, layered with spice and a hint of chocolatey fruitcake richness.”

Ideally Suited For (Brewer's Recommendation) : This coffee is a masterpiece for the adventurous drinker who enjoys a complex, fruit-forward cup. With its "boozy" intensity and whiskey-like characteristics, it offers a tea-like body that is incredibly aromatic.

How to Brew: :Because of the Light Roast and Natural Process, this coffee shines best in a Pour-Over (V60/Kalita) or an AeroPress. These methods allow the delicate layers of guava and cedar to open up without bitterness.

Serving Suggestion: : Best enjoyed black. We recommend avoiding milk or sugar, as they may mask the distinct notes of cola candy and spiced rum that make this Nanolot so special. Sip it slowly to experience how the flavors evolve from hot to cool.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Nanolot is an extremely small, limited-edition batch of coffee. It is typically harvested from a specific, small section of a farm, selected for its exceptional quality and unique flavor profile. These lots are often the "best of the best" from a harvest and are prized for their unique character. As you can see with Nanolot #4, some are as small as 15 units total.

This refers to how the fruit (cherry) is removed from the coffee bean after picking.

Natural : The entire coffee cherry is dried intact, like a raisin, before the bean is removed. This process, imparts intense, fruity, and often "boozy" or wine-like flavors.

Honey : The outer skin is removed, but the sticky, sweet "mucilage" (or "honey") is left on the bean while it dries. This creates a cup that balances the clarity of a washed coffee with the sweet, fruity body of a natural.

Washed : The skin and all the mucilage are completely "washed" off the bean using water before it is dried. This method results in the cleanest, brightest, and most transparent cup, highlighting the coffee's inherent acidity and terroir.

This score is a quality rating assigned by certified coffee tasters (like Q-Graders) on a 100-point scale. Coffees that score 80 points or higher are considered "specialty grade." Coffees scoring 87-88, like these Nanolots, are in the truly exceptional, "outstanding" category. This score reflects the coffee's quality in terms of aroma, flavor, acidity, body, and balance.

To get the most out of these complex, light-roast coffees, we recommend using a manual pour-over method like a V60, Chemex, or Kalita Wave. These methods give you control over the brewing variables and allow the bright acidity and delicate floral, and fruity notes to shine. A French Press will also work but will produce a cup with more body and less clarity.
